Sarah K. Lyons, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Diabetes and Endocrinology, at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. She is a med-peds endocrinologist with dual fellowship training in pediatric and adult endocrinology. Her clinical and scholarly work aims to improve the medical care of children, adolescents, and young adults with diabetes. In her role as the Director of Quality & Safety for her division, she leads Texas Children’s Hospital’s Diabetes Care Process Team, a multidisciplinary quality improvement team comprised of five workgroups that focuses on improving health outcomes for the diabetes clinic population. Within the American Diabetes Association, she has been a member of the Safe at School Working Group since 2015 and served on the Professional Practice Committee for three years. She currently serves as an ADA representative for the international consensus report in development, "The transition of youth with diabetes from pediatric to adult diabetes care services.
