Dr. Samar Hafida is an Endocrinologist and Weight Management specialist at Boston Medical Center and an Assistant Professor at Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her medical school training at Tripoli University in Libya, her endocrinology fellowship at Wayne State University in Detroit, and her obesity fellowship at Boston Medical Center/Boston University. She was a clinical instructor at Joslin Diabetes Center/Harvard Medical School for several years before joining the section of Endocrinology at Boston University, where she specializes in caring for people with diabetes, obesity, and complex metabolic disorders. Dr. Hafida established a transition program at Boston Medical Center to help bridge the gap between pediatric and adult care, and serves as the Director of Diabetes and Obesity Medicine Adolescent Transition Program. Furthermore, she is passionate about medical education and has designed and delivered several educational activities both locally and internationally. Finally, Dr. Hafida is deeply invested in advocating for people living with diabetes and obesity and believes in eliminating obesity-related stigma and delivering equitable care for all.
