Patti Urbanski MEd, RD, LD, CDCES, FADCES (Speaker)

Patti is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist and Registered Dietitian who works as a diabetes education and nutrition consultant in northern Minnesota. Her past positions include serving as a Diabetes Staff Development Coordinator at a hospital-based diabetes education program and work training family medicine residents in diabetes and nutrition. Patti served as the 2024 American Diabetes Association President of Health Care and Education. She currently serving on the ADA Nutrition Consensus Report Scientific Review and Writing Committee, and served on the 2019 ADA Nutrition Consensus Statement Committee as well. She is a past chair of the Diabetes Dietetic Practice Group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and currently serves on the Core Concepts Course faculty for the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. She is a frequent author and international speaker on nutrition and diabetes education topics. In her free time, she enjoys road biking, gardening and traveling with her husband, Tom.
