Dr. Maruthur is Associate Professor of Medicine & Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University and Director of the Johns Hopkins General Internal Medicine Fellowship program. She is also the Director of Community Partnership for the Brancati Center for the Advancement of Community Care; in this role, she leads community-based Diabetes Prevention Programs in Baltimore. Dr. Maruthur completed her medical degree at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and her residency and fellowship training at Johns Hopkins. She is a general internist with an active primary care practice and conducts research on diabetes prevention and the individualized care of diabetes. Based on her clinical and methodologic expertise, she was selected to be a member of the Professional Practice Committee for the American Diabetes Association and currently serves on the committee (2018-2020).
