Nicole Johnson, DrPH, MPH, MA has 25 years of experience with national marketing/communications, academic behavioral health research, and non profit management. She is an award winning author and communicator who launched her career when named Miss America 1999 as she brought awareness to diabetes by sharing her Type 1 diabetes story. Today, Nicole is a Vice President in Science & Health Care at the American Diabetes Association. She has also held executive roles with JDRF and the University of South Florida. Prior to her work in health care leadership, Nicole was a public speaker, author, and journalist and won a Telly Award for her CNBC talk show dLife. Nicole has published 8 books and most recently collaborated with her teenage daughter on a 5 book series for children on leadership and patriotism. Over the years, Nicole has served on many advisory boards including the Florida Governor’s Diabetes Advisory Council, the NIH Council of Public Representatives, and the national boards for both the American Diabetes Association and JDRF. She has a Doctor of Public Health degree, as well as master’s degrees in Public Health and Communication.
