Dr. Elizabeth Kubota-Mishra is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and a pediatric endocrinologist at Texas Children’s Hospital. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, earned a Master of Science in Medical Science from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, and received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She subsequently completed her pediatrics residency and served as Chief Resident at McGovern Medical School before completing fellowship training in Pediatric Endocrinology at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Kubota-Mishra’s academic and clinical work centers on the implementation and optimization of advanced diabetes technologies, including automated insulin delivery systems and continuous glucose monitoring, to improve outcomes for individuals with type 1 diabetes. She leads educational initiatives and workshops focused on leveraging individualized algorithm settings to maximize time-in-range and has been instrumental in developing transition curricula that support adolescents and young adults as they move from pediatric to adult diabetes care. Living with type 1 diabetes herself, Dr. Kubota-Mishra brings a deeply personal understanding to her clinical practice. Her firsthand experience informs a personalized medicine approach—one that prioritizes matching each patient with the most appropriate diabetes technology to align with their lifestyle, preferences, and clinical needs. Through this lens, she strives to empower patients and families to integrate technology seamlessly into their daily lives to achieve optimal diabetes management.
