Clipper Young, PharmD, MPH is an assistant professor and a clinical pharmacist at Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist as well as has also been certified for Advanced Diabetes Management and certified as a geriatric pharmacist. He is also the Chair of the Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) Interest Group and is a member of the Editorial Board for Diabetes Spectrum. Being a member of an interprofessional team, comprised of physicians, physician assistant, pharmacist, and dietician, his main roles include recommending pharmacotherapeutic options for diabetes management and for cardiovascular risk reduction, intensifying or de-intensifying treatment based on patients’ current status, offering diabetes education, educating students and healthcare providers on diabetes-related topics, assisting the development of a community-based diabetes screening program, and leading a pharmacy-focus home visit program.
