Associate Chair of Faculty Mentoring and Community Engagement, Montefiore Einstein

Dr. Alyson K. Myers is a Professor of Medicine and the Associate Chair for Faculty Mentoring and Community Engagement for the Department of Medicine at Montefiore Einstein in the Bronx. She is also an adjunct Professor at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where she also served as the medical director of inpatient diabetes for North Shore University Hospital from 2013-2021. Dr. Myers attended the University of Virginia where she majored in French and minored in Chemistry. She attended SUNY Downstate for medical school, where she was the four- year recipient of the President’s Award Scholarship. She completed a five-year combined Internal Medicine/Psychiatry Residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. During her fourth year, she was chief resident. After residency, she completed an endocrinology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern. During fellowship she received a T32 training grant in mood disorders and diabetes under the mentorship of Dr. Madhukar Trivedi. In 2022, she was co-awarded a Center for Diabetes Translational Research grant to further examine and improve the health outcomes of people with diabetic foot ulcers. She also leads the Montefiore Einstein multidisciplinary diabetic foot ulcer clinic which brings together the disciplines of endocrinology, infectious disease, vascular surgery, podiatry, and behavioral health. Dr. Myers is also involved with international efforts in countries such as Barbados for promoting foot care education and distributing proper footwear through her organization DrSaveALimb, LLC. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, time with family, and working out.
